New Account Set-Up: Use this On-Line Request form to request a FedEx account or make changes to an existing account or contact Ian Pepper 734-647-4981 or email ipepper@umich.edu. Note: You must be a permanent U-M faculty or staff member to set up new accounts or make changes to existing accounts. Change or Convert an Account: To change a ShortCode or convert a PCard account to a ShortCode account, fill out the On-Line Request form. Remember to include your current account number and a detailed description of the change you are requesting in the comments field. Schedule Shipments or pick-ups: To schedule individual and regular or daily shipments call 1-800-GOFEDEX (800-463-3339) or visit the FedEx Website. Shipping Hazardous Materials: Visit the FedEx Hazardous Materials Shipping web site for details about shipping hazardous materials with FedEx. If you have any questions, contact the experts at the Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Materials Hotline — call 800-GoFedEx (800-463-3339) and say "Dangerous Goods" when prompted by the voice menu. Tracking, billing, shipping and questions: Most tracking information can found by accessing the tracking section of fedex.com or by calling 1-800-GoFedEx. FedEx shipping charges: Processed with ShortCodes through the monthly Statement of Activity/SUB. Additional fees: An 8% processing fee is added to FedEx shipping charges. These funds are used to support the reconciliation and payment processes for UM accounts.Each department must have its own unique FedEx Customer Account number. A $25 correction fee will be applied to shipments that: - Fail to provide a valid ShortCode.
- Use the “old” FedEx main account number instead of a departmental account number.
- Any packages shipped without a valid FedEx account number.
