RETURNS AND DAMAGED GOODS Departments should handle their own returns and report damaged goods to the vendor. If the damage is visible, the delivery personnel should note it on the paperwork at the time of delivery and leave a signed copy with you. Concealed damage needs to be reported to the trucking company as soon as it is discovered. Dock personnel should know the necessary steps to take in resolving these matters but, if you need help, see the Purchasing SPG Section 507.1 for further information. |
